Connect your AI assistant
Link Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT or Codex to your own Cronxi account. Then ask it how many hours you billed last week or who still owes you money, and have it log the call you just finished.
01What it is
Assistant Access lets an AI assistant you already use read your Cronxi account and, if you allow it, add time entries and expenses for you. You keep talking to the assistant in its own app. Cronxi gives it your data when it asks, and only for the account you connected.
Cronxi doesn't run an AI model for this feature. The assistant you connect does the thinking.
02Who can use it
Assistant Access is part of the Pro and Team plans. If you move to the Free plan later, your connections stay listed in Settings so you can disconnect them, but they stop working.
03Connect it
Every app connects to Cronxi at this address:
https://cronxi.com/api/mcpClaude (desktop app or claude.ai)
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the address above.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http cronxi https://cronxi.com/api/mcpThen type /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.
Codex CLI
Run this in your terminal:
codex mcp add cronxi --url https://cronxi.com/api/mcpThen run this to sign in:
codex mcp login cronxiChatGPT
Add a connector in ChatGPT with the address above.
Whether ChatGPT can add time entries and expenses for you depends on your ChatGPT plan. OpenAI sets that limit, not Cronxi.
Approving the connection
- The app sends you to Cronxi. Sign in if Cronxi asks you to.
- The Allow screen shows which app is asking. Choose Read and add or Read only.
- Check the time zone your entries will use, change it if it's wrong, and tick the box to confirm it.
- Click Allow. You're sent back to the app, ready to go.
04What it can do
- Read your projects, clients, time entries, invoices and expenses, and your running timer.
- Sum things up: hours by project, client, day or week; what you've billed, been paid and are still owed; how overdue your unpaid invoices are; how long each client takes to pay; and what you've spent.
- Add time entries and expenses, with Read and add access.
- Undo something it added, within 24 hours, as long as it isn't on an invoice. This needs Read and add access. Your own Undo in Settings works either way.
05What it can't do
- Edit or delete anything you made.
- Send invoices or email.
- Add or change clients or projects.
- Start, pause or stop your timer.
06What gets shared
- Your clients' email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses from their client records are never sent.
- Descriptions and work notes are sent as you wrote them. If you typed a phone number or email into one, that goes too. Descriptions of time entries created from your calendar are not shared, because Cronxi wrote them from your calendar events.
- What the assistant reads goes to the company that runs it: Anthropic for Claude and Claude Code, OpenAI for ChatGPT and Codex. Their terms cover what happens to it next, and Cronxi doesn't control that.
- Entries and expenses the assistant adds carry a private tag in your ledger, such as “✦ via Claude”. Only you see it, and it never appears on an invoice.
The Privacy Policy has the full detail.
07Stay in control
Settings → Integrations → Connected assistants lists each connection, with when you connected it and when it was last used. From there you can:
- open its recent activity to see what it read and added;
- undo anything it added in the last 24 hours that isn't on an invoice;
- switch it between Read and add and Read only;
- disconnect it. It loses access at once, and anything it already added stays in your ledger.
Cronxi also emails you whenever a new assistant connects, so you'll know if it wasn't you.
08Good to know
- Times use the time zone you confirmed on the Allow screen.
- Lists of time entries, invoices and expenses show up to 200 items. If you have more, ask a narrower question, such as a shorter date range or one project or client.
- The assistant sees the first 200 projects and clients by name. Those lists can't be narrowed, so open Cronxi for the rest.
- If a date range holds more than 5,000 records, the assistant may ask you for a shorter one. An account with more than 5,000 invoices, projects or clients is too large for some questions, and a shorter range won't help: open Cronxi for those.
- If the assistant retries the same addition within 10 minutes, Cronxi saves it once.
